NYDBC Parent Leadership Training
NYDBC (New York Deaf-Blind Collaborative) is organizing Parent Leadership training for 6 to 8 families who live in the western part of NYS (between Buffalo & Syracuse), to take place in Rochester next summer.
Families will learn how to advocate for their child, how to create a community project, and how to support state or national initiatives to support the education and well being of people with deaf-blindness.
Participating families will attend three full weekends, during a seven-month period, with workshops by experts in the field. NYDBC will provide parents with support and guidance as they complete assignments between meetings.
NYPN will co-sponsor this parent training initiative and lend our support and information. If you are interested, please call Clara Berg (718) 997-4855 for more information.
